Marunomi resisted as hard as she could, but Tenten's chain and her grip were too strong. She could only watch helplessly as Sakura's punch made contact with the Behemoth's Tongue. All at once, the structure of the Behemoth's Tongue broke apart and then exploded in a blaze of chakra. The explosion was so great that it knocked Sakura and Tenten away and freed Marunomi of the chains that had bound her. Recollecting themselves, Tenten and Sakura retreated back to Temari's side. The trio watched as Marunomi gazed awestruck at the remains of the Behemoth's Tongue.
"You...You destroyed it," Temari said. "Our orders were to..."
"It's okay," Tenten said. "We spoke with Lady Sushi and she gave us permission to destroy it. She said it was too dangerous to exist anymore."
"I...I see," said Temari.
Truthfully, Temari wished Lady Sushi could have come to that decision sooner; before they had lost two of her comrades to Marunomi's gullet. But she was still glad for them to finally be rid of the device all the same.
Marunomi, was having quite the opposite reaction.
"That old hag," Marunomi said softly, but with great intensity. "She was foolish enough to order it to be destroyed. The greatest invention that village - No - the world ever created. And now it's gone." She turned towards the three kunoichi. "And you brats destroyed it!"
All of Marunomi's muscles tightened as she was filled with an unspeakable rage.
"You have no idea what you've done!" she yelled through gritted teeth. "I'm so angry. And so...so......HUNGRY!"
