A Day in the Life (MochiSeal and Whitebrand)

She awoke in her bed if soft pillows and silken sheets. The four columns at each corner supported St her curtains that blunted the morning light as it shone in through the wall-sized window. Her nightgown was an ankle-length drape with embroidery that would have belonged in a fine dress. Her long hair was wrapped in a light cloth.

Across from the bed was dark oak wardrobe. Next to it was a table and mirror. A bookshelf stood to one side while a display shelf was on the other. To the left was the doorway to her personal bath room where a larger tub waited.

As she awoke there was a knock on the main door to he right. A moment later a tall, broad-shouldered man entered. He was wearing a loose shirt, a pair of dark trousers, and a red sash around his waist. He carried a larger tray covered with a silver tureen. As he approached her bedside he unfolded a set of legs from under the tray so it could stand next to the bed at just the right height to reach it.

Then tall man paused, listening. Apparently he concluded that she might still be asleep because he turned to leave. The smell of breakfast food came to her nose from the tray.

She yawned a little while blinking a little, smelling the breakfast food from the tray, making her be a bit hungry.

She sat on her bed and streched a little bit, the smell of the delicious breakfast still in her nose, yawning a little bit, still a little bit sleepy but now starting to wake up a little bit more.

She saw the tall man and smiled a little bit "good morning" she greeted him

"Ah, good morning," the man said a he stopped. She knew instantly who it was. The dragon whose lair this place was had a human form and he was wearing it now.

His human form was quite handsome, tall with a toned body and a young face. His voice was a deeper tenor and had the faint hint of a brogue in it. Her walked back to the side of the bed and lifted the tureen.

Instantly she could smell the entire breakfast. Some sort of bacon, freshly-cooked bread, scrambled eggs with a slightly spicy sauce, and biscuits with butter and cheese. Doubtless put together by the dragon himself in his kitchen.

Brand had made on secret of this love of cooking, and he could be counted on to have meals prepared and ready for all five of the woman in his harem. While no one ever saw him with a broom or mop, the labyrinthine lair of this was always clean and fresh. Some kind of magic, probably.
