Risks are never good. If you can take a route that doesn't involve risk, then you should do that. You don't have to be told twice. Although you are in full view to Ryuko again, the alleyway could potentially provide another blind spot. You use the momentum of your jump from the stairs, to dash upon landing and get within the comfort of shadows. You waste no time getting up, and are back in full rhythm. You take the first turn you see, and keep doing this until you can't hear the power waves emitted from Ryuko anymore. For a moment you consider to relax and lay low, but one look up at the sky keeps you going. You'll need to get some cover. The intensity of the moment causes you to make a mistake, sending you down a sewer well. One strong hit from the rim, and you're out of action. Luckily the landing isn't too far away, and you end up falling in clear water. You still have some strength in you, so you start to crawl away from the entrance. Your movement is stopped by one firm dig of a heel in your back.
