Travelling with Asenath - Page 3 - "What!? No way!" - By AlimentaryArtist - Overview
"Wh-what!? N-no way! You're crazy!" you accuse, causing her to sigh exasperatedly.

Slipping behind the desk, ignoring your protests that only employees were allowed back there, she took your hand in hers, "Please! I know it seems strange but you won't be safe if you stay." she explains quickly, but not quickly enough as the three people in black coats were entering the lobby now. Ignoring the girl's pleas you look up by force of habit putting on your best customer service smile only to see the one in the lead pull a pistol from his coat. You register with mild interest that it's a Beretta M9 military issue semi-automatic before you are looking right down its barrel.

Luckily as the loud rapport of the gunshot rings out in the lobby the girl yanks on your arm, surprisingly strong for her size, causing the wall behind you to explode in a puff of drywall as the missed shot blows through the wall into the office. You look up, your heart racing as another of the intruders circles around to the low door separating the front desk and the lobby aiming another pistol over it at you and smirking, seeing the girl crouched there with you. "Here she is.." the person, a woman with short hair, says.

"Take her, the other one can die." you hear the first man say, almost as if he were ordering off a drive through menu. I'll have a burger, hold the mustard. Ice cold.

"Wait, wait, wait!" you plead, though the woman just smiles leveling the weapon at you. Seemingly all at once you feel a dull pain in your chest, and you are falling backwards, the girl is standing up and you can hear the rapport of another gunshot ringing in the lobby. You look down and see blood on your hands.

I wonder if she's going to be okay... you think to yourself as you black out.
