You choose not to move and keep looking at them, not wanting to agitate them with sudden movements. They seem to notice this, and stare you down in response.
Strangely, the longer you watch them, the more your surroundings seem to brighten. The crystals and the light they emit seem to become more vibrant, but not as vibrant as the creatures. They are spectacles, and they seem to be getting brighter and more vibrant still.
