Temari, Sakura, and Tenten had been trying to find Marunomi in the forest for several minutes. They had been using the best of their tracking abilities, but now Temari was questioning her own decision-making skills. Perhaps she should have brought Hinata or Ino, both of whom had jutsu that would have been quite useful in tracking her down.
“Dammit! Where could she have gone!" Tenten cried.
"Hush!" Temari uttered sternly. "Being loud and drawing attention to ourselves won't make things any better."
"R-Right...sorry," Tenten said sheepishly.
The trio explored the forest a while longer until Sakura silently signaled that she had found something. The group stopped as Sakura examined some twigs and grass that appeared to have been displaced. She peered into the forest and her blood ran cold as she just barely saw a dark figure within.
Suddenly, what appeared to be a long yellow beam of energy shot out from where Sakura had seen the figure.
