Everything in life begins with a choice and with this choice comes the consequence or reward attached. No one knows the outcome of what you choose and the best way to find out is to simply take the plunge and hope for the best. Humanity has had mixed results in following this rule down to the letter and through something amazing things have come to fruition. However, the reward of one action brings the consequence of another. Mankind has seen the likes of astounding technological growth over the years but, their capacity for knowledge only gave birth to the destructive habit of using their intelligence for violence, war and weaponry.
Humans made the choice of embracing technology and using it as a sword...but, in the end, humanity had only succeeded in impaling itself on the very same blade they had finely tuned and crafted for centuries on end. After years of conflict and brutal wars, humankind had finally succeeded in fulfilling a prophecy many would have seen coming long ago. The destruction of human civilization had torn the once bountiful earth into hollow shell of what it once was and, whomever would survive long enough, would be treated to living in a wasteland that was left behind by the squabbles of their foolhardy ancestors. However, where the chapter of man's prosperity had faded...a new one was already just beginning...
Centuries have passed since the war's passing, the humans that were descended from the last having lost the memory of what even sparked the devastating war or for what reason. Humans were slowly salvaging what they could of their former civilization but, it was clear that a new one was already beginning to flourish. Sometime during the 24th century, sightings of strange non-humanoid maidens began to appear, most seeking human flesh but others, giving the humans their first experience with what would later be called "Mamono". Human society generally benefited from the introduction of friendly Mamono, their mingling with humans giving rise to the knowledge of magic and the possibilities it held.
For some, unfortunately, they would only know the sorrows of predation, corruption and chaos."The Demon Queen", as some of the more chaotic aligned Mamono call her, lies within the black mire of the Demon Realm and orchestrates the advancement of the Mamono from her throne. Many see her views as liberation from the shackles of human limitations, others see it as nothing short tyranny sent to oppress an already beaten race. For every community that had been turned around by Mamono, there were several others that were twisted and corrupted by the damning energy of demons that coursed through the lot of them. These accounts raised natural defenses in humans that make the choice to defend against Mamono or allow them with open arms.
The world is changing once more...
Humans have, so far, adapted to the presence of the Mamono but, their welcome is still of mixed emotions. Indeed, Humans have grown wise to the Mamono "threat" that has presented itself to them long ago and only now is the "Monster Hunter Organization" in full functioning order. Humans train their kin in the art of hunting "chaotic" mamono and with this knowledge brings an ore that could be used to forge yet another double edged sword of war. Humans are taking up arms to defend their world from corruption and they're willing to fight with everything they have to push back the Demon Queen menace and bring peace to their, already ruined, world...
This is where your adventure begins. The world is teetering in the balance and what path you choose could determine the difference on whether humanity will be engulfed in a world of anarchy or will rise up to take back their world...
