You turn toward the sound, and sniff before getting closer. It seems familiar, somehow. You recognize the scent moments before she steps into the open. She’s a Rattata, like you!
She regards you curiously, and you can’t help but feel a bit of pressure. It’s her who speaks first. “I haven’t seen you here before,” she says. “It’s not often that I see another Rattata.”
“I’m from the city,” you explain. “Up on the hill. I haven’t left there before today.”
“The city!” She exclaims. “I wondered about the way you smelled. That must be why.” You wonder if you should be self-conscious about that.
“Well, allow me to welcome you to the meadow,” she says.
