"We be playin a 5e homebrew immersive game," said Richie. "It is like that VR type stuff - you directly control your character."

"Okay," Sam said. "Any rules I need to know?"

"Your character be based off you," said Richie. "If you strong, they strong. Be quick, they quick. Be smart, they smart. You good at the talking, they also good at the talking. Of course, since most humans know very little about magic, in any shape or form, you probably won't be playing something like a wizard, cleric, or bard."

"So, I'm looking at a magicless fighter, rogue, or barbarian," said Sam.

"Most likely," said Richie. "Still, finding magic stuff isn't too much of an issue."

"Anything else?" Sam asked.

"Lots of creatures, including Player Races, have access to the Swallow ability," Richie said, as he pointed at the centaur a couple of the others. "Reflects real life abilities. Between friends, it's harmless. Between enemies, that's up to the swallower - harmless or harmful. Now, even you can do something similar, to say a Pixie, and a Giant could do the same to you, but those with the Swallow ability can do it to those of the same size."

"Okay," said Sam.

"Now, the party be at an inn," said Richie. "Would you also like to be guest at inn?"

"If it makes things easier," said Sam.

"Good." Richie muttered something, and a fantasy-type of inn showed up on the table. He then passed out the sheets. Each player that accepted went into a trance-like state, and an image of them showed up in Adventurer-type gear in the inn.

They offered a sheet to Sam. "It be safe."

Nervously, Sam accepted it, ready to drop the sheet. A light flashed, and he saw it fill out. Nothing was below a twelve.

Next thing he knew, he was in the inn.

"Ah, you made it," the minotaur said, as they came up to Sam. They were wearing an outfit a Ranger might wear. "Your sheet's on the back of your wrist. Tells you everything you need to know."

Sam took a look, and saw what he was.
