“MAX! Come here! I need some help sorting through whatever this all is!” Your mother called from the kitchen; at a loss with what to do with normal leftovers, apparently.
“I’ll be right back,” you say to Miranda, handing her the book and quickly rising from the couch now that Alexa and Taryn were wrapping up. I better leave while I still can.
“Alright… see you soon…”
Heading into the kitchen where your mother was staring into the refrigerator, you walked up to her to peek over her shoulder when she whispered in a low voice, “I have a surprise for you~”
“What?”
“Shhh, it’s in your room. Go look!”
Eyeing her, you quietly slip around into the hall behind the kitchen towards the room you shared with Rudy.
