Your name is Max. You’re 23 and you’ve survived this long mostly because you avoid risks. Luckily for you your mother didn’t want to eat one of her only two children, and even more luckily the other child was your younger brother Rudy rather than a sister.
Staying away from risks meant staying home, giving you plenty of time to study, and to keep your grades up. Being on the honor roll had given you some protection at school; heading straight home had given you more.
Physically, you were on the larger side, maybe as tall as 6’2. You weighed almost 240 lbs, but were only slightly chubby; at your size you just had a lot of mass. In terms of attractiveness, you were average. Brown hair, brown eyes, slightly too broad nose, slightly too long legs. It had never mattered. You’d never seen a male enter a relationship and survive it, and you had no intention of ending up in a stomach.
Your brother was 15, shorter, blonde, but otherwise much the same as you. Aside from social habits; Rudy spent much more time hanging out with friends than you did. Not that you had many left. At this point it was really just Rudy and a few cousins. Zev and Harvey, their sisters Carrie and Miranda; your other cousin Leah; there was Madelyn and Amanda, and there had been their brother Martin until Madelyn ate him, and then there were Bernard, Freddy, and their sister Taryn.
Even your cousins rarely saw much of you, though they all lived nearby. You were the fourth oldest, after Madelyn, Amanda, and Carrie, though less than a year younger than Carrie.
