Vore Conventions?

Postby Adamant_Borb » Wed Feb 07, 2007 6:46 am

I really ought to be going to bed, but this question's been dogging me:

Are there vore conventions, or vore tracks in other conventions (furry, scifi, etc.)?

If so, could those who know anything about upcoming conventions for the year list them here?

I don't think there has been any vor convensions but there was a vore party at least once. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/43533337/?qo=25&q=by%3Akisirobelmont&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps

There will probably never be a 'vore' convention, due to the cost of such an event as well as the relatively small number of people in the vore community who would probably attend one. Though it would be pretty cool if there was such an event, I have to wonder who the guest of honors would be and what the 'dealers room' would have for sale. :)

As for vore parties, you can usually find at least one at any of the larger, annual, furry conventions:
Anthrocon - http://www.anthrocon.org
Further Confusion - http://www.furtherconfusion.org
Midwest Furfest - http://www.furfest.org/

(Note the from what I've heard, the main hotel for Anthrocon is already filled up for this year's convention)

Some of the smaller furry conventions are starting to attract vores as well, such as Morphicon ( http://www.morphicon.org/ ), though given it's size, yearly attendance is questionable.

I don't know of any non-furry events that have any vore gatherings, so if you're not a furry, one of the furry conventions is still your best bet. There simply aren't many non-furry conventions which take place, that attract non-furry vores. Since most people can only afford to go to one convention a year, furries go to furry conventions, which leaves the non-furries having to organize something on their own, and I haven't heard of anything yet.

Some vores who live close enough to each other, will also sometimes have their own, small parties, but these are among friends and generally not open to just anybody showing up, since they're held at someone's house.

Isn't the Big Gulp a vore convention? I know it takes place as a small part of another furry convention, but I'm not sure on the details.
Dry Erase Kitty- where else can you find feline zombie computer viruses and inbred demon kittens?

Yeah, I was wondering about Big Gulp. What was that? Anybody know any details?

I figured that anything vore-related would be best at home in a furry convention, just coz the two seem to interrelate a lot. Plus, I'd get my fix of vore stuff AND hot vixen stuff - and how could that possibly go wrong?

Also, how many people here think that IF there is a vore party at an upcoming furry con that Eka's should have some sort of booth set up? Not that I'd know what they'd sell, but it'd be a good way to get the site some exposure and raise some dough!

Just a thought.

But Eka's is more of a community site if anything, isn't it? So who would we have to represent us all? And people that were pretty exclusive to Eka's? I could understand if there were people here that really something here (besides Eka herself who makes the site!), people that are a bit famous among voraphiles, maybe there are here; I don't know.

Yeah, since this is largely a community site it might be best not to commercialize it.

Well, maybe Eka could just sponsor a "vore booth" along with other sites like VOR-COM and the VoreTex (although the VoreTex hasn't been updated in a LONG time, maybe they've gone AWOL). I'm just chucking out ideas here, but the "vore booth" could just be a place for vores to congregate and maybe buy some stuff. I know VOR-COM has a merch page, they could sell things. And copies of Bill Levy's book "Vore: The Consuming Passion" could be up for sale. And some famous furry vore artists could be on hand to do commissions for people or to sell prints of their work. Some names that come to mind are FatJaguar, Strega, Duo Radon, Cownugget... well, really anyone here that would be willing to make the trip to the con and sit for hours in a booth, hawking their stuff.

Me and another hosted a vore panel at FWA which will be happening again next year along with some extra things like the dinner we had this year.

We had 20 people for dinner (no pun intended please, heard enough that weekend)

We had a flyer up at the con as well. Next year's will be much better though.

The following statement is opinion.

Fetishes should remain just that, fetishes. Attempting to create societies where the only thing in common is a fetish is pointless and stupid, especially when that society then attempts to be treated like any other society of shared interests.

This is a bad idea.

Like BDSM clubs? Or like Eka's, for that matter?

I admit I'd be hesitant to go to a convention like that myself, but there's certainly precedent.

I've been thinking about this, too. It's an interesting thought, but I don't think I'd end up going; it would just be too weird for me. Especially if it was part of a sub-set of a furry con, that's an area where my fetishism doesn't really cover.

We felt if Gideon could have a panel where he talked big tits and cawk then we could have a vore one, next year at FWA it will be a nightly subset of events. We are really normal in the fact we aren't like screaming HEY come do dirty stuff with us. Granted others won't be so open but knowing that those who were there were there listening to others helped make others feel better I am sure. I was just happy to sit by a real life girl into vore during it cause you really don't find many that are real women and not just "play one online" We are trying for lots more time and such at FWA if you don't want to come, that's fine, you are going to miss out on a lot of cool people. I know this time I finally met the people I was afraid fo the year before cause I felt out of their league, and the only female. Being co host helped me, I had to get out of my shell to do this.

Not like we break out the bondage equipment...

Sell art. Talk about vore. Eat gingerbread men. Play carnival games that involve tossing micros into giant mouths. The possibilities are endless, man.

No, I think the biggest obstacles in a vore con are A) getting people to crawl out of the safety of their internet rocks and appear in person, and B) get enough vorephiles in a small area to gather. We're not particularly common, and we're not particularly fond of showing our faces in public.

Maybe we can wear Eka bunny-girl masks in lieu of Guy Fawkes, to protect our identities. 8)

I agree with this fully, there's probably a lot we can actually do, but I will admit it'd take a bit of thinking to really expand on it.

There's the crowd of us that our significant others or spouses are *not* into vore even if they are accepting.

But I think the acceptance bit runs out at going to a convention for your sexual fetish with others who share the sexual fetish. That takes a loooooot of trust. And you can't really expect them to go to an event they really know nothing about or aren't interested in.

I'm afraid we're too spread out as well.

I would love for this to be a thing, but sadly it will never be, and even if it was I'm past the point in my life that it could be a fun thing since I'm quite monogamous at this point and taken, and half the fun would be flirting.
