Sprite Lamia/Tail Resource

I made a nice 8 frame lamia/tail animation in 4 directions compatible with RPG maker type games.

The link below contains the spritesheets, gifs and photoshop files if you want to use it yourself. Just erase the legs of whatever sprite you're working with and stick their torso on the tail.

I surrender all claims to the work for all purposes. Do anything you like with it, there's no need for reference to where you got it.

I used the universal sprite sheet generator you can find at the link below to get a nice 8 frame walking animation (note that the first frame of each direction is a stop frame).

Hopefully I'll see this in a game sometime.

This is the second sprite I've ever made. If you have photoshop create a timeline and then each frame of the timeline is the frame of your animation. Use the photoshop script I just put into the OP link above to export your timeline into a composite image with rows and columns. If you don't have photoshop I'm sure Gimp has an equivalent, it's really easy to do it just takes some time.

I can't draw worth a damn either. I just copied the pattern from this sprite.

This is really cool, and thanks for sharing the LPC Sprite resource too.

RPG maker uses 3 frame cycles for all its animations (4 since one is repeated). You can find a script for whatever RPG maker you're using to alter the frames used by a sprite.

RM Sprites Rundown:

(width by height in pixels)

2000 and 2003 are 24x32, 3 frames each direction

XP is 32x48, 4 frames each direction (also one character per sprite sheet)

VX and VX Ace are 32x32, 3 frames each direction

MV is 48x48, 3 frames each direction

Of course, these are standard definitions; you can have the sprites be any size you want (theoretically).

As far as more than 3/4 frames per sprite, yes, it requires a script that modifies how sprites are handled (and there are a number of them).

quite astounding. If you're ever interested in doing something with your sprite work, do hit me up. Been looking to revive an old project for awhile, but my pixel art is utter trash. haha!
