What do you mean? Do you mean that you can't save or that your saves from previous versions don't work on the current one?
If it's the latter you're talking about; you just have to copy+paste your desired save folder into the current www folder (you might have to delete the one that's already inside the www folder if you've saved the game during a new game). That worked for me at the very least.

Does the new content stop IN the gauntlet?

You can get yourself shrink down and then run up the rope. The pink gal there takes you with you in a cv scene. You still cant escape thought.
Is that the only way?

So a bit of spoiler warning as the question I have is about the new content, if you haven't reached it yet and want to experience what it is on your own without anyone telling you anything, don't expand the spoiler also it is a question about what to do so it's likely not going to mean anything to you before you get there outside of spoiling it.

so I have gotten to the gauntlet and tried just about anything I can think off and yet I can't see to escape, is there anyone who has managed to escape of is that path not available yet?
Oh and the only thing I haven't tried yet is being out of regens but the gauntlet seems to reset after each death so I don't see how having no regens would change the outcome but if it does please tell me

There is currently no way to escape the alien camp once you enter, the scenes to escape the gauntlet aren't in place yet.

My saves work... put your save folder from v0.55 into the WWW folder...

I'm not sure why Mysta keeps changing it... it was under the game directory, then the root location on the HDD you have the game installed on, back to the game directory, and now it's under the www folder

There are an Maze, if go to the woods near the spawpoint u'll come to the next mission, to start this mission, go to the king (after the mission with the aliens), speak with him, go to the woods and speak with the girls

I guess this must be because I updated the save plugin to add in the quest log. Hopefully there won't be any more changes like this for a good while!
