Good place to host Vore Game repositories

Usually I use Github but they have a policy against NSFW content, I was wondering what you were all using and if there is any service like that that doesn't have an issue with porn/vore games

For publishing my releases I typically use Mega, but that's less of a repository for collaboration and more just a hosting platform.

For a real alternative to github, there's gitgud.io

Got a source for the GitHub policy? I think they bar NSFW content, but not necessarily code for NSFW projects

Can't really find their policies about the content they host but what I read seems solid, thanks!

Here is the source: https://docs.github.com/en/github/site- ... guidelines

"Sexually obscene content:
Don’t post content that is pornographic. This does not mean that all nudity, or all code and content related to sexuality, is prohibited. We recognize that sexuality is a part of life and non-pornographic sexual content may be a part of your project, or may be presented for educational or artistic purposes. We do not allow obscene sexual content (...)"

Ideally you also upload the images of the game to a repository, so it would break that rule

For the purposes of just having backups I keep my vore projects in my google drive folder so that the latest version could always be retrieved in case of a computer snafu.

That doesn't get you any kind of sophisticated source control however.

I'm not sure how advanced you want to get, merging? Branches? Honestly most vore projects don't become so advanced they would need serious branching and version control strategies. It's not like we have teams of developers working together and we're not creating vast complicated systems.

You could also consider keeping your code on github and developing for your project and unpacker that takes a compressed volume and recreates all the pornographic assets and just host those elsewhere.

Following on from what Ryanshow said, what's the goal of hosting the repository publicly? You can create a git repository locally and get all the benefits Ryanshow said, and back up the entire repository using whatever automated backup solution you use. Git repositories are just files arranged a certain way, after all.

You usually don't need to use something like Github, as sharing the files is enough if you're only publishing your work and you're not accepting outside contributions. If you want to share revision history, you can upload a bare repository anywhere you can get file hosting and your users can download it using git clone as normal. (But, again, you have to make sure your file host allows lewd content.)

If you ARE accepting outside contributions, you can look around for other hosted options. (I think they all have similar CYA policies, however) Or you can just spin up your own git server using https://docs.gitea.io/en-us/install-with-docker/ or https://about.gitlab.com/install/ or similar. You don't need multiple frontends and a special storage backend for small projects. If you can get free compute time (e.g., by staying below the free limits at AWS/GCP/etc., or on a local machine - even a raspberry pi should be able to handle it) and storage somewhere, even easier. Small cost, but one you may already be paying for other reasons. This last option is what I do even though I haven't actually had anyone else contribute yet, just because it's a nicer interface for browsing my own projects. (If you're curious, you can take a peek at https://git.reya.zone/reya/).
