Is there one particular reason why we enjoy predators eating others, or yourself getting eaten by your favorite predators? Perhaps there are many various reasons why we have this fetish?

I for one love it as long as cute is involved. For example, being held in the belly as your new home can be very comfortable. Perhaps we just want to be held protected from danger such as drowning, or other outside hazards?. Since in is impossible to do it IRL, we have fantasy creatures that allow us to be devoured by them. So why is this a thing? Like, I don't like digestion in any form (fantasy or realistic). but I'm only in this be be swallowed whole and alive within the predator as I please so that I have some place to be. Much like the story of Jonah, but the predator takes me somewhere to explore. Maybe famous stories similar to Jonah are what got us started into vore?

But WHY is this? If we can't do this in real life, why does our fantasy adventure of being eaten/swallowed (preferably NO digestion) make us happy? We have many toys, games, stories, and other works that show how much we are into this kind of kink. It's kind of interesting, but strange at the same time.

But like, does it make me/us a bad person if we WANT to be eaten/swallowed whole, even if its pure fantasy? I've spent countless hours in drawing sprites/posing my favorite predators, even of different angles of the same pose. Mainly they are for my personal use. This only says about me that I have a fetish for said character. In my case, some say I've had a dolphin fetish, considering its just one deep crush/love interest on my favorite character from said video game. Maybe this is a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the point of view?

No, it does not. Strange, yes, but not bad.

I won't try to speak to why people find being eaten very appealing, as I don't engage with vore like that, but I did read an interesting post somewhere that proposed an interesting idea for how the fetish might develop. The central idea was that, in cartoons and stories and games and what have you for younger children, there's no really extreme violence or sexual content. But in a lot of cases, conflict might involve people getting eaten (or facing the prospect of being eaten) in a cartoonish sort of way, because the enemy is a monster or dragon or something. In this way, being eaten (and especially, being eaten in this weird swallowed whole no blood manner) gets associated with conflict and from there power, which leads to an early association of vore with dominance/submission, and the kink develops from there. It doesn't explain everything, of course; all the people interested in safe vore or in the more bloody pieces aren't really covered under this, and it still seems like something more is needed (after all, not everyone who watched the Jungle Book wants to get eaten by a snake, so why the differing outcomes?), but I thought it was an interesting perspective.

Personally, I think it's just some innate predisposition that got acted on just right by external factors during our development to create a voraphile, kind of like how your innate predispositions and what you ate while growing up often determine what foods you like.

I personally think that fetishes are mostly unexplainable. Yes, in some cases they can be tied to some events you experienced when you were young, but like phibias they're mostly just an irrational thought.

Humans are also sexually flexible so there are transitions to extremes. Power and dominance come into play, but I would bet money they aren't the main contributing factor.

I can't speak for anyone else, but personally, it is as suggested above part of a submission/domination fetish. Though I have no idea as to why I have a submission/domination fetish.

Personally, I believe that it is chiefly 2 reasons, in the context of non fatal, soft, cock and unbirth vore:

1) the phallic imagery (more a male thing) . Especially with unbirth, it is literally the most complete sexual penetrative "sex" there is. Either man or woman can enjoy this, but as men have a penis, which is for penetration, it is usually more accurate for this reason to be applied to men.

2) full body stimulation (more a female thing). There are multiple points on a woman's body of which sexual stimulation can be achieved. Down the throat and inside the stomach give a very sexy full body massage.

Personally I think it's kind of in our wiring to enjoy some aspects of it, as extremely strange as it sounds. Some bugs eat their mates, some like the Australian Redback Spider even do so willingly. Also, we are by nature drawn to the digestive system in some ways in relation to romance. Kissing, especially with tongue, is naturally erotic. Oral vore is like the ultimate french kiss, in a way.
