I post stories, I dabble in art without posting it.

I think there is a decent percentage who at least give content creation a fair go. It's a creative community!

So, if we consider (very optimistically) that with those people we reach 6000, that give us something like 6% of total users post art of some kind.
Something like 1 every 16-20 users. I thought a bit more.

Although not all of those galleries are active anymore, plus there are people like me that are not artist and only post commissioned and gifted pieces, which throws off the numbers some. I think 5% is a safer bet.

this topic made me think a lot about community.
also because you can only see what exists and can't see what doesn't exist (survivorship bias), the impression community gives is that it's all content-makers, but with these statistics it's suddenly an enormous crowd with just a tiny percent of those who post art.
this makes artists look a lot more valuable just by quantity, a very delicious pie chart piece.

I think there's a higher percentage of artists in this community than most simply because we have to make our own. A lull in art getting posted was what finally pushed me to jump in.

Yep, this question's difficult.

You've got a number of members on this website, however, not all "members" are actually people. We do have bots that wander in from time to time. Then there are "members" that are alternate accounts for whatever reason (I had a different account, but lost the password to that one).

Then on the artist side, you have a to define what an "artist" is. We've got people who only do images, ones who do stories, a fair number do both, and then some do videos. Also, do we count roleplay stories as "art". I'd count them all as artists, but that's me.

Then there is the question of where they post. Some only post here, some post here and on external sites. I'm sure there are a few who ONLY post on external sites, not that I could tell you who. Also, is it just galleries we're concerned with here, or do forum posts count?

Finally, you've got to figure out who's still active. A lot of galleries are just gathering dust anymore, mine included. I'm still an active viewer, but I haven't posted anything in a while. This item plays to both "members" and "artists".

If you add all the "work to be shared" topics in the forum, it makes approximately 9k content creators.

With 108k registered users (couting those who are inactive) you have 8% of the vore community who creates stuff.
